A familiar African Proverb reads, “If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” Mbog Liaa and Mbai Bassa California believe that together we go farther. That is why they are joining forces to launch Mbog Liaa USA West Coast on 11/23/2019 in the Bay of San Francisco in California. The official launching in the presence of the General President of Mbog Liaa Jerome MINLEND and the President of Mbog Liaa USA, Pie BAYEHE, will be the culmination of a series of cultural and social events organized throughout the Silicon Valley and extending three days, from 11/22/2019 to 11/24/2019. They will showcase the Bassa-Mpoo-Bati culture and will include a tour of the headquarters of the most famous US high tech companies such as Apple Inc., Google, Facebook, Nasa Ames, Intel, HP and Twitter.
This new section of Mbog Liaa will provide Bassa-Mpoo-Bati associations and communities in the West Coast of the USA, a common regional structure which will help them coordinate and scale up their actions and develop projects in a more effective way. For Alain NONGA, President of Mbai Bassa California, joining the Mbog Liaa network is beneficial in two folds: (1) In the short term it will accelerate Mbai Bassa California’s outreach capabilities in the USA; (2) In the long term, Mbog Liaa vast network of associations and pool of expertise will help us better assure the viability and sustainability of our projects and actions to improve the living conditions of our people back in Cameroon.
For Mbog Liaa and Mbog Liaa USA, the creation of Mbog Liaa USA West Coast is an important milestone in the deployment of the Mbog Liaa network in North America. We value very much the sharing and leverage of knowledge. Being able to leverage the expertise and know-how of Silicon Valley and other technological hubs of the West Coast of the USA is of strategic importance to us.

Mbai Bassa California is an Association of Bassa-Mpoo-Bati living in California. It was created in 2012 with the mission to: (1) Promote self-knowledge and solidarity between members; (2) Educate about the Bassa-Mpoo-Bati culture and build bridges with other communities; (3) Improve living conditions of the Bassa-Mpoo-Bati in Cameroon in the fields of education, healthcare, clean water and micro-economic projects that are self-sustainable
Mbog-Liaa is a cultural non-political and non-religious association. It is composed of a network of associations of people of Bassa-Mpoo-Bati origins. It was created in 1995 with the mission to promote the Bassa-Mpoo-Bati culture and further solidarity links between its members, and build relationships with other communities. Its network of associations spans all the continents. Since its creation, it has been instrumental in educating the public about the Bassa-Mpoo-Bati culture, unifying the Bassa-Mpoo-Bati diaspora and helping the emergence of Bassa-Mpoo-Bati arts and artists at the national and international levels.
